Why I'm CONFIDENT Russia Won't Invade Poland
I am currently living in Poland and there is a lot of buzz if Russia and Putin will try to invade Poland. Based on what I've seen and my experience going into Ukraine, it seems very unlikely. Today I want to talk about my thought process and why I'm confident that Russia won't invade Poland.

    You can believe that. That’s fine. But the reality is, you’re never going to know what will be a failure and what isn’t. So far in my experience meeting a woman overseas has been much more successful than the 22 years of my dating life in America (I’m 38) I finally have a woman I’ve always wanted to meet. She genuinely wants me and we have had the most beautiful experiences together than any woman I’ve ever been with in the short time I’ve known her. She wants marriage and doesn’t have any interest in money or material things. Some would argue, such as yourself, that this is doomed to fail. But I’d argue that every relationship is a risk. No matter whom it’s with. But the risks for me are much lower than it’s ever been before. I am confident that many men face failure and success but I believe more men face success than failure. I’ve seen the successes. Not just online but in person behind the scenes of it all. I see more men that I know personally who have had more success than failure meeting women overseas than here in America.

    I guarantee you man that if all of Europe spent at least 2% of GDP on the army in the last decades and had real capabilities, the war in Ukraine would never have happened because Putin would have thought 10 times. You live in a delusional world if you think that the US doesn't need an army etc. or Western Europe if it wants to have democracy and any own values etc. Putin attacked in realit Ukraine because he perceived the West as weak same Ukraine. Putin really thought that Ukraine would quickly fall and that NATO would sink into internal conflicts if he quickly take Kyiv . Generally war in Ukraine is not big in the interest of the United States and the United States to a large extent handles business of Europe, becouse in weak Europe there is no leader who would be able to take the interests of all of Europe on own shoulders and because all of Europe in recent decades has not spent even 2% of GDP on the army and has lost its deterrent potential. In reality, Putin is completely unafraid of countries in Europe and only treats the US seriously.

    Currently Russia will not attack and only a calculation of forces will decide about it. It would be different if Russia conquered Ukraine then in the long term the balance of power could change with worse scenarios in the West. Currently Putin is too weak but in order to be an equal partner for China he will always dream of rebuilding the USSR because only in the times of the USSR was Russia an equal partner for China . Putin is also a threat not only in military form.

    You're talking a lot of nonsense, every country that wants to be a global power must have an army, there are no values without an army that is able to defend these values because a dictator from another country will simply come and decide to take away these rights and values and that's how the world works. The only difference between the USA and China like that and Europe or the USA is geography. Countries in Europe have never been able to permanently dominate Europe because of geography, so they moved their rivalry to the oceans and then other continents and that's how colonialism began. China, on the other hand, has always fought mainly internal wars because of geography and has been focused on itself and that's why it has never had a large fleet. Currently, the USA is actually the largest island in the world, which is why it has the largest fleet in the world, and the army is the guarantor of these interests, while China wants to overthrow this position, dictators like Putin see this as an opportunity to strengthen their own position, which is why it is nonsense that the war in Ukraine is in the interest of the USA, because it is not at all

  • @twofaceofinternet1027
    @twofaceofinternet1027 11 годин тому

    Man, even the visit of the leader of China to Europe showed that China also refers to medieval Europe of the warring kingdoms, and China chose as its vassal countries in Europe countries that were penetrated by external powers in the Middle Ages, such as Turkey, and these were countries like Hungary and Serbia. You completely dont understand politics and history od Europe and what is the real game about .

  • @twofaceofinternet1027

    Currently Putin will not attack Poland because he is simply too weak but in the long term it is very likely if he starts to control Ukraine . Putin is also not only a military threat but also a civilizational one because of the model of states he has chosen for Russia. For Russia everything is war even simple information and uses all possible instruments for intoxication etc . in the same way, it will try to intoxicate democracies in Europe with various extremes in order to pathologize them

  • @twofaceofinternet1027
    @twofaceofinternet1027 11 годин тому

    Putin chose a militaristic fascist model without a civil society as a model of state for Russia, which geopolitically has the same consequences as the bolsheviks taking power in Russia. Putin, in order not to be vassalized by the much larger China, will be forced to rebuild the USSR in long term only this time in a fascist and not bolshevik form, because only in the times of the USSR was Russia an equal partner for China. Putin will be support similar fascist movements in Europe too , because in a murderously centralized Russia, such a system will cement Putin's power, while in Europe, which is not centralized, similar movements will destabilize and weaken Europe in relation to Russia, because Putin will be able to play off individual countries individually etc .

  • @twofaceofinternet1027
    @twofaceofinternet1027 11 годин тому

    You do not understand the basics of European history at all, let alone the basics of the history of the region. Europe has fought constant wars for most of its history because no country in Europe has been able to permanently dominate Europe. A large part of Europe's history was ruled by absolutist states, only the Second World War and the presence of the USA stabilized Europe, cementing democratic systems in Europe. Russia was part of Europe only during colonialism when other countries in Europe were also ruled by absolutist states, and Russia sees Europe only through the prism of those times, everything else is considered a historical anomaly, and it hates the USA in Europe and democracy in the same way.

  • @twofaceofinternet1027

    Putin's long-term goal is to overthrow the US domination . Generally Putin sees the current war as similar to the period of World War I and only as an introduction to the real global rivalry lasting the next decades. Ukraine has always been a key element in the imperial plans of Russia. The war in Ukraine is not because of any eastern territories but a pretext used in all propaganda. The real goal of the war is to control all of Ukraine in order to turn 140 million Russia into a 200 million empire dictating the terms of Europe in the future and together with de-dollarization in the long term to drive out US influence from Europe and bring Europe to the Middle Ages and the era of warring kingdoms.

  • @twofaceofinternet1027
    @twofaceofinternet1027 12 годин тому

    The USA has of course interfered in many unnecessary wars, but you completely do not understand the world and you do not understand the basic things that without the US army, which is a guarantor of interests, the democratic system would cease to play any role in the world .

  • @twofaceofinternet1027
    @twofaceofinternet1027 12 годин тому

    You talk a lot of nonsense showing a total lack of understanding of the world and the region. Putin attacked Ukraine precisely because he perceived a disarmed Europe under the US umbrella as weak. Putin needs Ukraine to turn Russia with 140 million people having demographic problems into a 200 million militaristic empire with Belarus.

    The reason given for the invasion of Ukraine is NATO encroachment. Ukraine was sitting on the fence for a long time. Even if Putin was gotten rid of, the system won't change and they could put someone far worse in place. Russia's been paranoid for a long time, and for good reason. Just in the past 2 or 3 decades there have been wars and invasions the USA has been involved in, not to mention regime changes. If Russia felt threatened enough, sure, they would invade Poland. It's happened before. I wouldn't say that Putin is necessarily for the Russian people, but he's done what it takes to stay in power and keep the wolves at bay, even internally in Russian politics. His survival instincts have been in high gear since the Berlin Wall fell and he was surrounded by angry East Germans. I normally enjoy the content on this channel, but you haven't studied Putin or Russian history enough, not to mention talking to normal Russian people, to make an informed opinion about what Putin or Russia would or wouldn't do. Even talking to Poles around you of different generations would be an improvement.

    "He constantly puts the needs and the wants of the russian people" .. ???!!! Sir.. what the hell are you talking about? The country is home to the world's largest natural resources, and at least ten percent of its people live in poverty. If someone disposed of this fairly, and Putin took care of his people, Russia would be freakin' Wakanda. Putin doesn't care about simple Russians. I guess you don't believe that these data released by the Russian government reflect the truth. Elections in Russia just as in Belarus are rigged. If Putin is seriously so supported then why did he put his political opponent and then murdered in prison - Navalny was killed in mid-February this year. Watch videos by Russian youtuber Roman from the NFKRZ channel. I recommend, for example "Nobody hates Russians more than Russia", "Russia is now destroying food-why", "Putin wins Russia's election. But at what cost?" and many more. I just can't comprehend when people living in the West/ in Poland believe Russian propaganda. If you said about Russia as a Russian citizen what you just said about USA you could end up in jail. Even specialists do not know whether the war will not spread to other countries, if so, Poland is not likely to be the most threatened rather the Baltic countries are more likely. As you say you don't know much about the situation and you're making statements, I know you're just answering questions about whether you're afraid to be in Poland, but if you're not equipped with the right knowledge you can just keep quiet about it.

    Wes c'mon man, you start out by saying you don't know the history of the region or much about any conflict, then you say the US goes to war because companies profit off of it? Not trying to be a d**k but that's ignorant, it seems like your foundation of information that supports that claim is just as weak as those who are screaming Free Palestine. There's a lot more diplomacy and strategy that goes into geopolitical conflicts than dollar signs, but yes oftentimes the US involves itself in conflicts that benefit/hurt the US, because at the end of the day we are our own country with our own goals. It's also disingenuous to say the US doesn't care about it's own people because they "fund" wars...the quality of life that Americans have is attributed to the US's presence in the world, and if we simply became isolationist not only would our Quality of life decrease, but billions of others in countries that benefit from our international policy would decrease. The US economy runs the western world and without the security of that globalization, the world economy fails. Ugh now to address the Military industrial complex. Yes, companies who invest billions into developing defense and security technologies are going to benefit, that's how capitalism works. In capitalism, if there's a demand for something, there's going to be someone supplying it. If the US has the biggest military in the world, and other world powers not being capitalist, it's going to look like the US's military industrial complex is unique, which it is, but it's not for nefarious reasons. But just because they profit off of selling weapons doesn't mean the use of said weapons is BECAUSE they profit off selling them. People selling hunting equipment aren't profitting off animals dying, they're profiting from people who want to buy hinting equipment. Countries have militaries that physically do nothing for them, but diplomatically that military has an impact. The US has the biggest military and what comes along with that is running the globalized economy, it's not an intentional war:profit ratio it's just what happens when those conditions are met. Barely scratched the surface of those comments but if you absorb anything from what I'm saying please let it be this: It's easy to analyze global affairs, or watch others analyze global affairs, but the truth is you really can't understand them. Meaning simplifying the US "funding" and being involved in wars down to "The US doesn't care about it's own people" and "The military industrial complex benefits from war" is such a surface level take. There's good reasons, and sometimes bad reasons for the actions a government takes, but those reasons aren't for what you think they are, and if they were as simple as that the world would be in flames. US politicians aren't plotting a war and being like "DURRRR IF I START WAR THEN I MAKE MONEY DURRR", it's just not happening how you think it is. Also, the video you linked was definitely biased. An unbiased analysis of the conflict is simple; Ukraine is a recognized sovereign state and has been for 30 years, and Russia invaded it in 2014 and has been occupying it since. Morally judge Russia if you want but that's irrelevant like you said, who cares who's the good/bad guys. When someone says they support Ukraine they aren't saying "Ukraine is good and Russia is bad", it just means they care about upholding the international etiquette of the last couple decades since WWII. Who wants countries invading other countries to be accepted? I'm assuming you, as an ex pat, don't think that's how the world should work. Tried my best to avoid using emotionally loaded language, didn't want you to think I'm blinded by my personal feelings. My country is not perfect, and the actions they take aren't perfect, but I think it's important to understand all this is complicated, bottom line. If two youtube videos were enough for you to vilify the US, fine. None of what I've said in this comment is coming from any source removed from these things themselves, meaning a history youtuber didn't teach me these things. I read books, articles, conversed, listened. It's not fun, but if you want to have a strong opinion on these things, travel and read, not watch something people are selling you on the internet. (I'm not selling you anything trust ;) ) Love the vids wes! I went to Ukraine a month ago because your video inspired me! And you're completely right, war is unlike anything my priveledged ass can understand. One important thing related to this that I learned while I was there, is that Ukrainians want to fight. If they want to fight and defend their country, I dont understand why we should stop them. I also don't understand why we shouldn't help them. It's a win win for the US and Ukraine - Ukrainians are better able to defend themselves and feel like the west has their back, and the US defends world order and makes money off of old equipment lying in warehouses. Nothing nefarious about that in my opinion. THANKS FOR READING! p.s. I didn't like Poland as much as Ukraine haha

    Saying “Putin puts the needs of the people over everyone else” as a good thing is insane. He has chosen to invade neighboring countries since 2008. Russia has resources and all what it needs to have a strong country, strong economy and a high standard of living. Russia outside of Petersburg and Moscow is extremely poor, and the social stratification is enormous. Instead of taking care to make life in rural Russia a little bit better, he chooses to expand and conquer. Russians can't manage their own territory. Putin chooses to expand his collapsing empire, which is common among other dying empires in our history. Surviving through conquest is not OK.

    Wes, please explain how “Putin puts the needs of the people over everyone else.” Also, for the other commentator’s and your own edification, please list the territories Russia has invaded since Putin took over. Do you even know? Can you list them? You simultaneously disclaim much knowledge of Russia and its conflicts in the last decades while making such sweeping statements about Putin’s good will? You note that Poland is arming itself in short order. Why or against whom do you think they are doing this? The very country you want to live is arming itself against the person “who puts the needs of the Russian people over everyone else?!” Why would they be doing this, then? Do you ever ask yourself how Putin, this great man you seem to think he is, has retained power for 25 years? Through free elections? You hold the US defense industry accountable for our wars but seem to have entirely forgotten that many nations were grateful to be freed from Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union. You also ignore completely the sentiments of the people in the Baltic republics, Finland, and other neighbors of Russia (including Poland). In sum, you have chosen some strange sort of ignorance and “both-sidism.” The US is terribly imperfect but that doesn’t give you an “out” to ignore the parts of history that conflict with an easy, “I’m just here to enjoy myself and meet women and ‘grow’” while using that same general disregard for facts to justify a conveniently neutral stance that accommodates a simple life. And note that just because the people in western Ukraine go about life, just as the people of London did during the Blitz even, doesn’t mean that they 100K Ukrainian dead and their families aren’t suffering. And one last thing, sheesh, do you recall that the invasion began when Russian tried to take Kiev? The Russians were stopped and defeated, but consider that when you say that “this is all about eastern provinces between Ukraine and Russia.” Sorry, but your take on this is so contrary to the facts, and your almost purposeful ignorance about everything other than “the US is bad because we fight in wars all over and thus we must be the bad ones” is, well, it’s who you are or have chosen to become. Maybe watch Artur Rehi or Ryan McBeth or Professor Gerdes and learn why people believe Putin is a sociopath and the Russian people can’t stop him or any of their other previous czars. Your focus on culture (Columbia v Poland) and all that is fun, but those countries have some freedom that wasn’t there for either of them 30 years ago. Consider that your lifestyle of travel was paid for by the sacrifice of Americans and others to allow some freedom to exist in places like…Poland and Columbia, too. The FARC didn’t just lose for nothing, remember.

      Exactly! Putin came to power by spilling the blood of Russians mostly civilians and maintains that power with violence. In 1999, there was a series of explosions in apartment blocks in Buynaksk, Moscow and Volgodonsk that killed some 300 people and injured hundreds more. Russian authorities accused Chechen separatists and Islamic militants of carrying out the attacks, which became the pretext for launching the Second Chechen War. This war was very brutal and resulted in the deaths of thousands of people, both military and civilians. His military successes in Chechnya helped him gain popularity and win the 2000 presidential election. In this case, the war helped strengthen his political position early in his career. The annexation of Crimea significantly raised Putin's popularity at home, portraying him as a defender of Russian interests and citizens. Then there's Georgia in 2008 and Syria. If someone says Putin cares about Russians I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

      For freedom to exist in Poland mostly the lives of Polish people were sacrificed. Hundreds of thousands of people who were killed by the Soviets and the Communist regime. The same regime that Russia still glorifies and considers a "liberator" of Poland. In the same way Russia is liberating Ukraine now. Putin is constantly threatening other countries and wages a hybrid war against them. I get living in Kraków feels nice and safe, but Wes should see what happens on the border with Belarus- which is Putin's doings. Living in a country that Putin threatens to wipe out with nukes, and saying that he's just doing what's good for his people is so unbelievably ignorant...

      @@alka__7136 I think this purposeful ignorance allows people to imagine themselves as a neutral spirit in the world just searching for harmony. There were so many people who found ways of excusing Hitler in the 1930s while partying in Berlin or Paris. I guess they can afford to let the good times roll for their world is so fluid it hardly matters where they are, for whom they act, or what they do. Ignorance is truly bliss.

    Russia was able to recover from the fall of the Soviet Union largely due in part to Putin’s leadership. The crooks running Ukraine were too corrupt to care about building it up. There’s no reason why the largest country in Europe with a buncha natural resources is one of the poorest

    I love your channel but you totally lost me when you said Putin does not want to take power and control the world. Perhaps reading world history would illuminate this for you a tad. Putin will take as much as he can get away with. When he invaded Crimean, it was said this will only last a few months. I said :then you do not understand the Russian heart. And so it came to be. Putin wants to reconstitute his "Russia" as it was. And if he could, he would crown himself. There is NO justification for Crimea or his recent invasion of Ukraine. Simply put: It was not his for the taking. Such arrogance. And someone needs to perhaps get this man a dog, if a dog would have him. And you, Wes, read your history to perhaps get a deeper understanding of this king-want-to-be.

    I think you made a pretty fair assessment of Cebu. I loved it there. But there's a lot of good and bad. One of the things that really got to me was the condition of the stray dogs. I saw many with skin disease and they were shivering and emaciated. I saw one dog that had probably been hit by a car at some stage because he had no use of his back legs he was just dragging them around. I don't know if it is true but I was told that there is a law stating they are not allowed to kill dogs.The result of that is thousands of stray dogs. We saw them everywhere. My wife Jen is from Cebu and she says It's always been that way
